Friday & Saturday 23-24 June: Tales of Witchcraft and Wonders: Ghosts, Handfasting and Oubliettes
On Friday afternoon i took a coach to Gloucester , collected by Tony and Candia and later made our way to the castle.
What a wonderful weekend in St Briavels Castle organised by Inkubus Sukkubus in the Forest of Dean. On Friday we learned about all the ghostly tales from the castle with a talk by author and historian Ross Andrews before attempting some Ouija board and stool tipping. I loved the way each room I walked in that night had people looking for ghosts or drinking mead.
On Saturday Candia and Tony conducted a lovely handfasting ceremony and afterwards Candia and I jumped the broom (with tony approval ;) ) so I think this will remain one of my highlight for a very long time. I went to see the oubliette in one of the room, wander around the grounds, graveyard and the pub. Very pretty around there especially love that carve chair and what a view over the valley.
friday night ghostly tales...too dark to catch our ghost hunting investigations :)
rooms , castle now a youth hostel
i love that seat
kind of glad i was in the room with oubliette underneath
