We booked this so long ago, (thanks to a groupon offer) alongside Amanda and Martin we went for a 4 course dinner and cocktail at the Basement Galley tube train experience. They turned an old tube carriage into a pop up restaurant, very popular now not really pop up anymore. Menu changes all the times and you eat on the tube :) A cool yard in Walthamstow full of old trains, wagons, double deckers and a tube carriage, the food was yummy but gosh it was freezing and lack atmosphere. A shame as love the idea but really left alone all the time, they just brought us courses after courses but no interaction. At least we did with other guests , also it didn't help everyone was shivering in their coat and their didn't serve tea!!! i think the chef explaining menu or inspiration or even making tube announcement would really had made it. It was still a great quirky experience but could have been so much better with some more little touches and some more heating :)
They look like puy lentils. Very tasty and quite easy to do. I really love them cooked in chicken stock and white wine with a soffritto of garlic and shallots, finished off with a knob of butter and chopped chives.
something not really cooked much. i did my first attempt cooking red lentil on sunday adding to the leftover stew but turned it all into quite a wallpaper paste conconction :) i used to really dislike them as a child but thanks to indian restaurant now i really like them :)
