Saturday 28 February: Party time
That was the big day finally here after many months of prep and plotting. Started a bit stressed as David and Sarah got caught in traffic and so did we a bit on the way to collect the cake Liana made.
Arrived at venue a bit later than planned but luckily Inkkies were already sound checking...still somehow...all ran a bit late...was scoffing quick pizza as guest started to arrive :)
What a great night but gosh it went by fast
At 6.30pm the place started to fill, The good ship really worked well as a venue , they were so nice to deal with, the sound engineer great, lovely staff, good choice of drinks (although i only had malibu, but i am told the keg cider was good and so choices of ales)
Paul Rosenkavalier did the first dj set
Simon and his new project Hi-Reciprocity went on at 7.30pm (made of simon, liza and daevid (some music also done by howard) a great mix of old rome burns and new project more neofolk poetry. First time they played all together and the start of more ...fantastic...
Pyromancer took over the music djeing
A little break to go, blow some candles and cut the amazing 3 tiers coconut and toffee vegan cake liana made me ...so yummy...two of my fav flavours.
Laura and Ariff also made lots of other fav of mine : lemon drizzle, carrot cake, ginger...although never got a chance to even try them.
Inkubus Sukkubus went on around 9ish, what a storming set..i always get so excited when they dedicate one song for me at gigs so a full set...yiou can imagine...and they played lots of old fav too...to make it even better they had plotted a special surprised with simon joining them on stage for Paint it Black :) :)
what an awesome gig...best present ever...so excited i got my fav band to play on my birthday :)
Finally got a bit more fo a chance to chat to everyone...it was wonderfully manically busy...started to empty around 11ish and a little dancefloor started, we finally left around 12.30 i think
Thank you everyone for coming and all the amazing presents....never been so spoiled :)
