Minstrel's Rest [Oct. 21st, 2014|12:05 pm]

Minstrel's Rest
I chose that B&B as it looked great online and had fab reviews but it was even better than expected. The owner were lovely, the room small but so well themed/decorated. I love the little attention to details, from fairy doors in rooms and stairs to proper pottery vessel next to your kettle. The breakfast was a feast and so much choices…everytype of flavour sausages to home made jams (and they were served in mini cauldrons) . Of course you are also eating in a medieval-like hall with armours and medieval chairs.
The B&B also has its own range of home made medieval wines (I bought the bilberry) and lots of meads on offer (returned with a cinnamon one). It was so hard to pick which home made jam but in the end decided for a mead one. The rooms are beautifully decorated (we had the " normal ones", so cannot comment on the four poster ones) but we our had a separate bathroom (end of corridor with a spa bath)…luxury especially with all the lovely toiletry they give you…not your usual bland ones. All were lovely decorated with ta[erstries and matching bedspreads.
I would highly recomend if in hastings.

so fab! Lovely how all the details are considered, even the more "basic" rooms are still full of medieval character (which so often doesn't happen in these sort of places!)
