Sunday 19 January Our last day exploring and it was cold and wet, typical depressing atmosphere of having to leave that night. The main visit for that day was Kerepesi Cemetery. Filled with shrouded ladies, semi naked muscular men and nineteenth and twentieth century Hungarian politicians, with really liked over the top marble sepulchre, missed the vegetation of some of our great ones or the city like feeling of Pere Lachaise we but some amazing gravestones.
From the cemetery we then headed to the Synagogue (the biggest in Europe) , very odd one as looked just like a cathedral but with crosses replaced by Stars of David .
Not very typical but loved the sound of it so we went to the Green Turtle Tea House, a native American Indian theme place with over 250 types of tea Very cool deco with many theme rooms and even tepee to book.
attempting at visiting our fourth ruin bar and too early again!!!
bye bye my favorite devils on budapest...
Last meal , had the nicest mojito mussels and the so so filling Hungarian specialities of gnocchi with cheese and crackling (very different to usual gnocchi) and a quick last dash to a few shops to spend every last HUf money left before setting off for the airport.
