Wednesday 16 March: Kangaroos in Cemetery, Hillary Harbour and Pirates|
We decided to be proper australian goths that day by going to a cemetery to see Kangaroos.
Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park. A very different kind of cemetery, resting place with serene water gardens; plaques on rocks, ground, bush land , along rivers and ponds...With many animals roaming including lots of kangaroos! !!!!!
Reading about it online it is widely considered to be the most environmentally responsible cemetery in Australia. The park, which received its first burial in 1978, has been developed and maintained as a natural bushland cemetery planted only with native species. No monuments are permitted but each grave is marked by a flat bronze plaque.
The afternoon was spent at Hillary’s Boat Harbour, lunch in little seaside eateries , playground for the little one and a beach with slide for us to swim in. That was so much fun…a bit windy but a platform to dive from and a slide t play with..i didn’t want to leave….in the evening we went for a meal at lovely Vietnamese before trying the Pirate bar. Surprised it won winner AHA Best Themed Western Australian Venue 2014 as one of the least pirate theme place I have been…
