Friday 11 September: Castle, Basilica, Lieu Unique, Arcade, Fairground and "Fairy Bar"
Arrived in Nantes around 1.30pm so as our hotel/flat was closed until lunchtime we had a lovely lunch of typical Nantes food Galette, salty caramel crepe and cider sitting outside int he sun :)
Checked in (basic flat right opposite iles des machines, not so cool being on 5th floor and broken lift, which i imagine they have no intention to repair.
We arrived with sunshine and nantes was filled with student running around in flurescent outfits for rag week.
Nantes haa a very pretty arcade "Passage Pommeraye", we then popped in the Basilica St Nicholas . Visited the Castle des ducs de Bretagnes just before it closed
Popped to see Lieu unique , cool ex LU biscuit factory by the canal turned into bar, art space, installation kind of space. Still have a fabulous Art Nouveau tower
Fairground in town so had a wander and photos of blood and monsters
"Fee Maison" bar ..a mix of fairies and glbt decor, artworks exhibited, a metal mesh dragon, cute skeleton on menu, logo with a frog, sofas and trinkets and even the odd TG flyer alongside a super friendly crowd. It was amusing as we went because of the fairy theme but once in we soon realised fairies in a few meanings...everyone was so friendly and had a right laugh in the end as we got many kisses before being allowed to escape.
the Basilica St Nicholas
cute things around town

The Castle ,little museum inside and able to go all the way round the ramparts
