Thursday 30 July: Floating hotel, Art Nouveau Justice Court and boat trip (Berlin Thursday Part 1)
That was an early start left home at 2.45am, collected Aly and Rob en route to Luton for a 6am flight to Berlin.
We stayed at their regular hotel an hotel/hostel boat in the centre the Eastern Comfort. What a great hotel cute cabin with round windows you see coots pass by and so practical next to tram, tube and iconic bridge. Definately a place i plan to return next time i am in berlin.
Dropped suitcases and off to start sightseeing, but despite the cold weather the first stop was their fav ice cream place near by (delicious indeed) and feeding very friendly sparrows.
Next stop: Stadtegericht Mitte, a fabulous art nouveau style justice court, mixing knights, pinkness and curves.
As this was also Simon first trip to Berlin we also did a boat trip to see all the sights like museum island, cathedral, Reichstag...also lots of quirky atrworks and building spotted along the way.
