The library was moved in the 70's to a more modern section (visited the old one on open day many years back so nice)

Was hoping to pop by to say hello to Rosseti and Millais afterward in the gallery but was too cold and tired grabbed the chance of an early return home...

Such a fab London History Collection but also the unexpected large collection of books on Cooking and Gardening. They currently have an exhibition on Mrs Beeton and her Contemporaries . https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/…/exh…/Pages/Mrs-Beeton.aspx

That made me laugh in the store where all the books are kept ..i like the chaps section labeling
and an old fashion tube system to get your requests (no longer active but kept).

That was one large book..size of a door...although it was more about the binding and empty pages inside

Rather fancy a pneumatic tube system at home. Not sure what I'd send through it, maybe bottles of wine from the cellar to the office ;-)
