Saturday 20th September (5) The UK Supreme Court (formerly the Middlesex Guildhall)…whoaaaa…so so pretty Neo-gothic dark wooden bosses and angels on stone and stained glass. Ceiling to die for , outdoor building indoor, the library has well mixed old and new…and what a ceiling. If I even commit a crime I would like to be judge there. Array of lovely gothic details everywhere. Sensitive refurbishment of this neo-gothic Grade II* listed building enhances the historic fabric whilst reversing more recent adaptations that had left it feeling gloomy. The north and south light wells were cleared bringing light back into the building, improved orientation, and greatly enhanced the appearance of original features such as stained glass windows, wood panelling and ornate ceilings.
