Thursday 13 June The Slade MA degree show opened yesterday so we went to ahve a llok, i have to say one of the worst one i have seen, i thought the BA one was bad but that was just awful. I find the lack of title and artist statement very bad, as at least it would help to understand how it got there and ideas behind but without any explanation just a pile of rubble on floor, hummm very conceptual and puzzling at times ..those were of the more interesting ones
I feel your pain. The rubble on the floor thing was pretty pandemic at CSM's degree show(s).
True story: there was a wheeled cage full of cleaning supplies and a sign leaning up against it left for a couple days amongst the installation pieces in one area as they were being built. People I work with were talking about it, trying to figure out if it was a piece or just cleaning supplies, because there was no way to tell.
It was actually cleaning supplies, but I don't blame the people who mistook it for someone's work.
i always expect some at a show but this time all their was, one was just crumpled papers on the floor and as they have no statement or titles for unknown reasons hard to tell...i always see myself as quite open minded having spent m,any years studying art but this one was very very bad.
