I have to say I am definitely looking forward to being in Japan next week and not have to go to work during tube strike.|
Yesterday my precious time was mostly spent traveling, the morning wasn't too bad!! only took 2 hours by bus but at least i got a seat and a good book.
The journey back wasn't so nice...3 hours, first hour spent freezing waiting for any buses that might let us in, but sadly every 29 (well every buses ) was full to bursting and not stopping , I gave up and walk to kings cross, 2 trains later and a bus made it home...cold and tired.
This morning i tried a new version, simon (lucky sod allowed to work from home) gave me a lift to Alexandra palace train station, inability to squish inside first few trains and announcement making us go from platform to platform, but i eventually managed to sardine myself in, got to finsbury park and before jump on another train told victoria line was open so at least the rest was easier and got into work in an incredible 1 hour record :)
Tonight we will probably be stuck in traffic for a while but in comfort of the car as Simon need to come to work to collect an old card cabinet we are saving :)....however having to wait the end of the congestion change and traffic could be another very late return home :(
The one odd week i kept completely free of any sort of gigs or going out to pack and prepare for trip has not quite happen that way...
